Thanks to Dani De Velde from Spirited Living I have been featured in the latest Honeycombers article, which can be found here, all about the importance of locally grown Organic Produce.

As seen below:

Rene Wright, a holistic nutritionist and GAPS Practitioner, believes that our bodies can sense the toxic load in our food.

“Choosing organic is essential, as non-organic produce is often tainted with toxins like glyphosate that cannot simply be washed off, and these chemicals can cause a host of health issues”, she claims.

Rene Wright Honeycombers contribution

This is an incredibly important message and something we should all be concerned about.  We live in a toxic environment, which started changing in the 1960/70’s.  It has affected our food, our environment, our lifestyle and worst of all, it is having a profound effect on our babies and young children.

It is vitally important to eat only Organic produce, which is seasonal and fresh wherever and whenever possible.  Why do we have to choose Organic Produce?  All produce should be grown organically and all other produce should be labelled as GMO or sprayed with Herbicides, don’t you think? We should be paying LESS for Organic, healthy food and MORE for GMO or toxic laden food.

Have you noticed that the government guidelines are skewed and the food pyramid has not delivered what it was set out to do.  It has become a “For Profit industry”, rather than a “For Health” purpose.  Many Food companies such as Nestle, Pepsi, Coca-Cola, Danone (and many more) are funding the Dietetics Society, The Nutrition Society, The Heart Health Foundation, The Diabetes Foundations (worldwide), Hospitals and Schools.  There is something fundamentally wrong with this system and these foods are produced to be highly addictive and incredibly toxic to the system.  Have you heard that ultra-processed food destroys the gut microbiome? And, that many of the flavour enhancers, colours and preservatives have been proven to be carcinogenic and worsen conditions such as ADHD, Autism and Mental Health Conditions?

I am so pleased that Honeycombers are focusing on, healthy, fresh and local Organic produce, because this is an excellent place to start, especially in countries where the majority of the food is imported.  What is the system like where you live?

For the sake of our children, our future and the future of our planet, we all need to start making wiser choices, don’t you think?  Imagine if we start driving down the prices with demanding more organic produce and supporting local farms.  If only we all knew how powerful we as human beings are in numbers.  WE are the game changers.  What we DEMAND, is what corporations will SUPPLY and sell!  Choose Wisely!
